What we are proud of at
Keeversfontein Red Brangus Stud is located at the foot of Van Reenen's pass. The breed originated in 1978 and since then the animals are farmed on an extensive system.
These are tough proven fieldbulls and which live on Redwater and Galsiekveld. Bulls are used at the age of 16 months for first calf heifers and cows. At 27 months they are used in the cow herd and thereafter sold at an annual production auction.
The herd currently consists of 1600 breeding cows. Prerequisites for breeding cows: - Cows should calve every year - Cows should winter through in the field with a winterlick - a minimum of 205kg for calf weaning.
Keeversfontein SA Boerperd stud strives to breed suitable, comfortable riding horses, that are + - 15.2hh and can walk a corridor. Herd consists mainly of the Long Carel bloodline.
Geldings are broken in at 2 years of age and used for cattle work on the farm until they are 5 years old, whereafter they are presented at the annual N3 SA Boerperd production auction. These horses are very docile and "shockproof"!
